Camper & Nicholsons – Mega-Yachting Marinas

Friday 14th September, 2007, St. George’s: Paying a special visit to the Office of the Prime Minister on the morning of Thursday, September 13, 2007, was Mr. Nick Maris, Chairman of the renowned Camper & Nicholsons - accompanied by major developer Mr. Peter De Savary. Camper & Nicholsons is a leading Developer and Management Group in Mega-Marina Development and Services for over 40 years with clients in some 23 countries throughout the globe.

In his discussion, he spoke highly of the beauty, security and potential of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique and its continued attractiveness to the major potential investors from around the globe. Camper & Nicholsons recognizes the immense potential of a Mega-Marina located in our safe (outside of the hurricane belt), serene and picturesque inner harbour and has demonstrated through this visit a keen interest and desire to do business in the Yacht-friendly environment of the “Spice Isle.” The spin-off benefits of such a development are enormous…and a more detailed layout of those benefits would be forthcoming once a comprehensive and formal proposal is received.

As a premium brand in the yachting sector, Camper & Nicholsons requires the highest possible standards in Customer Service and works closely with partners to see that the standards can be met and that they are maintained. In addition Camper & Nicholsons has carried out work in Uruguay, the Caribbean, Russia, Thailand, the Arab Gulf, the Adriatic, the United Kingdom, Lebanon, Albania, Montenegro, Croatia, Italy, Greece, Tunisia, Spain and the USA. One of Camper & Nicholsons’ work of art and beauty is the Grand Habour Marina in Malta that stands out as the showpiece of the Mediterranean. It is rated among the world’s most modern and prestigious mooring locations.

Prime Minister, Mitchell thanked Mr. Maris for registering his interest and reaffirmed his Government’s commitment to partnering with credible investors like Mr. De Savary and Camper Nicholsons to furthering the development of Grenada. He again stressed the need for job opportunities for Grenadians and promised to work with the investors to train more Grenadians for the jobs accordingly.
