New Adult Literacy Centre at the Happy Hill Secondary School

Friday 21^st September 2007- St. George’s: The Ministry of Education is delighted to announce the opening of a New Adult Literacy Centre under the Government of Grenada’s National Adult Literacy Programme.

On Wednesday 19^th September, 2007 the Happy Hill Secondary School became the fifteenth centre to offer this beneficial programme to its environs.

The literacy programme aims at providing all persons in Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique who are unable to read and write, with the opportunity to do so, free of charge.

The programme consists of 64 video classes which integrate the four basic skills of language ‘listening, speaking, reading and writing”.

· Hubbard’s- Carenage

· Morne Jaloux R.C. School

· Chantimelle R.C. School

· Bonair Government School

· Beaulieu R.C. School

· Grand Roy Government School

· Gouyave Open Bible Church

· St. Andrew’s Methodist School

· Grand Anse R.C. School

· Tivoli R.C. School

· Happy Hill Secondary School

The Programme is funded by the Government of Grenada in collaboration with the Government of Cuba.
