Cabinet has also approved the amended policy
for the award of Grenada Island Scholarships.
The following framework will now be adopted for
the award of the Grenada Island Scholarships:
1.
The
Grenada Island Scholarships be given to recognize and award exceptional
performance in post-secondary education by eligible persons based on the
criteria in the
2.
The
Scholarships should give multiple awards distributed in areas of study that
reflect broad human resource development linked to the general areas of study
in academia and training;
3.
The
maximum number of Scholarships to be awarded annually will be 4 and chosen from
the following disciplines:

Natural
Science
·
Social
Sciences
·
Humanities
and
·
Technical
and Vocational
4.
Consideration
will be given to awarding at least one (1) scholarship per discipline. However,
the top performer in each discipline must satisfy the established criteria.
Should there be no eligible candidate in a particular area; but more than one
in another; Cabinet may award a second scholarship to one of the eligible
candidates.
5.
An
awardee who has been given a Grenada Island Scholarship in a particular
discipline and who wishes to change the area of study to another discipline
must seek and obtain permission of the Ministry of

scholarships from all areas except TVET would be based on students’ performance

An overall GPA of above 3.5 (If the GPA of the student
with the highest performance is between 3.0 and 3.5, Cabinet reserves the
right, nonetheless, to award the scholarship.)

semester with a GPA of below 2.0

Carried
at least 12 credits each semester.
