Students Benefits from Sen. Ann David-Antoine’s School Supplies Assistance Program

Wednesday August  29^th 2007, St. George’s:  Health Minister Sen. the Hon. Ann David-Antoine, yesterday afternoon distributed a quantity of school supplies to parents and guardians of students attending the South St. George Government School at Springs in St. George’s.

Mrs. Antoine who is known to make her personal contribution towards the students’ educational development on a yearly basis said that she was pleased to be making her contribution once again.

Minister Antoine, a former Principal of the New Life Organization (NEWLO) in Palmist St. John’s from time to time commits herself to assisting young people to complete their primary, secondary and tertiary education.

Being a motivator she still commands a great deal of respect from her past students as well as the parents and guardians of the students she once taught.

During Tuesday’s exercise the Minister reminded the parents and guardians they have an important role to play in the up bringing of their child or children and that the must fulfill their responsibilities.

She called on all parents and guardians to empower and encourage their sons and daughters to strive for excellence and become future leaders. 

The beneficiaries of Governments School Supplies Assistance Program were very high in praise of the Minster, whom they described as genuine and caring.
