Minister Louison Congratulates
Police Force
Wednesday August 15th 2007, St. George’s: Minister of National Security
Senator the Hon. Einstein Louison, has congratulated Commissioner Winston James
and other members of the Royal Grenada Police Force for the exemplary job they
did in policing the 2007 Grenada Carnival. Minister Louison said that the
members of the Royal Grenada Police Force were very professional in the
execution of their duty and commended them on their performance. Senator
Louison also revealed that the police had worked long hours during the carnival
season with no complaint and this he said demonstrated their dedication to
duty.
He noted that the Royal Grenada Police
Force had stood tall at crucial times and reflected on their credible
performance during the World Cup, the 2006 Carnival and Hurricane Emily.
Minister Louison said that Government would continue to invest heavily in
improving conditions, skills and the tools for the Police Force. “Many of the
cars and other policing equipment which we invested in for the World Cup are
being used everyday to keep our streets safe and have made life easier for the
Police Force during the 2007 Carnival Season. Also although the process has not
been as fast as we would like the newly refurbished police stations across the
country have also made conditions better for our police officers,” Minister
Louison remarked.
In making these comments Minister Louison also thanked members of the
Public for cooperating with the Police Force and for being concerned with
sustaining peace and safety. “The Police Force cannot function effectively
without the cooperation of the public. I am pleased to say that we got this
cooperation during the Carnival season and continue to get good cooperation
from the public,” Louison said. He urged members of the public to continue to
use the police hotline 444 1958 to report suspicious activity.
